Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois

If someone gives you money to help you out and then changes their mind and wants you to give it back are you legally obligated to?

Does it matter when it is they change their mind?

If they gave you the money, with no expectation of repayment, then I consider it a gift. If it is a gift, you have no obligation to repay the money.
