Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois

Can a person make me pay for or take back gifts . I was given gifts from a boyfriend. We brome up now he wants me to give all of them to him or pay him money for them.

Gifts are gifts. Unless it was clear he was giving them to you "only if......", they are gifts. Now, on the other hand, if you accepted a marriage proposal from him and these gifts were with the intention of marriage (such as an engagement ring) and YOU broke it off, things might be different too.
