Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois
What can I do about someone who posted a photo of my rear end on his web page?
I recently attended a school event and while I was dancing, someone took an unflattering photo of my back side, identified it as me, and posted it on a web page that is a permanent record of the event. When I asked him to take it off or let me substitute a picture of my face taken at the same event, he refused. Many people now will see this embarrassing photo and be amused at my expense. What are my rights and what can I do about it now?

Send him a certified letter stating that he did not obtain your permission to post your picture, that the picture has humiliated you and subjected you to the mockery of your peers, and has caused you great distress. Demand that he remove the picture at once, and if he fails to do so within 5 days, you will pursue all remedies available to you under the law. If that doesn't work, get a lawyer. Someone somewhere would be happy to sue this kid for you.
