refinance question
can i force someone to refinance to remove my name from the mortgage that i co-signed? they say their credit isn't good right now and they need to wait. they are current on their payments though.
i also signed a homestead waiver and my name is not on the title.

The issue is not whether you can force someone to re-finance. The issue you are facing is that the mortgage holder will never agree to release you even if the person for whom you co-signed wants it. The Bank has you on the side to go after if the person you signed for fails to pay as required.
You co-signed. That is you accepted liability and responsibility for the acts of another person. The bank won't let you out!
