Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois

refund policies for retailers

We purchased clothes from a retailer for a wedding. The wedding was called off and the retailer won't refund our money, stating; He doesn't give refunds. He never in any way informed us of this and we never got receipts because the bride was the intercessor for the purchases for all the bridal party

Retailers do not have to allow for returns on purchases. This is not an unusual policy for bridal retailers, as the dresses are often custome ordered. Perhaps you can sell the dresses on ebay.
