Repayment of employment settlement money

I was notified March 15, 2001 that I was losing my job at a major corporation. I had just enough service and age to retire. I was granted a separation payment if I would sign a release that indicated I would not sue or take any action against them. The release was executed in May of 2001. My retirement began in June and I recieved two checks from them (one in July , one in August). I was contacted by them last week to tell me they had sent the second check in error and I should sent them back the amount. Before I do any searching through my records to determin if they're correct, I would like to know ''Do I have to send any money that might have been sent to me in error back to them?''

If the money was sent to you in error, i.e., you really were not entitled to it, I can't think of a legal theory that would permit you to benefit therefrom.
