Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois

My SSN is tied to someone else's

My social security number is tied to someone else's at a public aid office. I have $15,000 on my credit for child support to a child who isn't mine. It is not identity theft. This is the office's mistake. What kind of lawyer do I need to file againt the public aid office?? I'm lost!

You need to contact each of the three credit reporting agencies to straighten this out. It would also behoove you to contact Public Aid and explain the situation to them in order for them to try to straighten this out from their end, for what it's worth. Unfortunately, the burden is on you to take care of this.
