Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois

i am suing a village(goverment) for not enforcing an ordanence law to have a neighbor clean up thier yard. I have waited 3 years, now i am trying to sell the home and it is still in awful shape. He said he is going to have the town attorney have it thrown out of court. Can he do this? Second what sort of recovery can I get from them? Can i charge them for the time that i have had to hold on to it when people that has came to see it has said that they did not want to live next to a junk yard even though they like the house. Please help.

municipalities and other governmental agencies are typically immune from liability for failing to enforce a law. there can be exceptions but it is rare. it sounds as though you filed this yourself. this is not what you want to hear but i dont think you will recover from the village.
