Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois

traffic law

backing out i was rear-ended,no ticket was given,now other driver and her ins. co. are trying to sue me

so now i have a bench trial--do i need a lawyer or can i appeal after i see how this is going--remember

no ticket was given.i was backing up in my parking lot at work when another employee from next door ran in to me

Have you contacted your insurance company about this? They will likely get one of their lawyers on it.

Do not think you can "appeal after [you] see how this is going", it does not work like that.

You should contact your insurer asap even if you think that you are not at fault. The fact that no ticket was issued or that one was issued is not relevant in a civil matter.

Hire an attorney if you do not have insurance.

You can represent yourself, but would be best served by a lawyer. You may want to consider a counterclaim against the other driver.
