Yes, it sounds like you have a valid claim. Importantly, the relevant statutes would likely provide for an award of attorneys' fees, so, assuming you would prevail, you could obtain reimbursement for reasonable attorneys' fees. What did the ALJ order? Were you compensated for the loss of income?
