Legal Question in Health Care Law in Illinois

I went to an emergency room overnight to be treated for a severe urinary tract infection. I gave the nurse a specimen and forty-five minutes later, another nurse asked for my specimen. I told them I already gave it to someone. They left and came back twenty minutes later and said I still had it. Basically, they lost it and I had to give another specimen. Both my nurse and doctor were completely incompetent and refused and/or were unable to answer simple questions. After asking my doctor one question, he got mad and walked out of the room, spending an entire thirty seconds with me. The results for the second specimen came back negative (I read this could happen if the urine is in the bladder under four hours, which it was), but because of my medical history, the doctor prescribed me a weak antibiotic and aspirin. I'm still having symptoms and now I'm stuck with a $1000 bill. Could this be grounds for malpractice or negligence?

Most likely, no.

There seems to be no permanent injury.
