Can the hospital keep you in there after you have asked to leave

Hello. Technically a hospital cannot keep a patient against his or her will. However, if the patient is mentally incapacitated, the hospital can exercise authority to keep the patient in the hospital for the patient's own best interest. Will be happy to answer any additional questions you may have.
