Legal Question in Health Care Law in Illinois
medical bills
I have an issue regarding a medical billing. The insurance company won't pay for a procedure due to the coding used by the hospital. The hospital refuses to change the coding even though the doctor as issued a letter stating the coding is incorrect. What are my options?

Re: medical bills
This is a typical game that hospitals and insurance companies play. If the insurance company is coming after you for money, you could ultimately sue the hospital. But in the meantime I suggest persistently going through management of the hospital until someone addresses what sounds like a book-keeping error.
