Legal Question in Health Care Law in Illinois
Prior Employer is calling my clients informing them I had a stroke.
My employer terminated me on 11-30-06. I found out through one of my clients, that he called them and informed them I had a stroke. My stroke was a very minor one. Isn't it against the law for him to do this? Do I have any recourse to stop him from doing this.I am in the software programming field.

Hello. Your prior employer's behavior in this
regard is absolutely outrageous. He has no
right to contact your clients and say anything
about you. This is slander and you should file
a lawsuit against him. This will hurt your career because he clearly is communicating to
them that you are incapable of working as you
have in the past. Will be happy to answer any addtl. questions you may have.
