Legal Question in Health Care Law in Illinois
I am in the process of changing doctors (in Illinois). When I requested that my records and xrays be transferred, they told me there would be a charge. I believe that I have paid for those xrays and that if I pick them up at the office they should be given to me w/o charge. I feel the same about the written medical records. (They want to charge me $25).

Illinois law allows for a charge. they have to keep the original in their records. You are only getting a copy
