Signed Affidavit
A few years ago I was appraoched by two attorneys who flew from Chicago to California to ask me some questions. I ended up signing an affidavit that caused a civil trial to begin. They mentioned that the judge wasn't giving them any more time and they needed something for a summary judgement. I now am really feeling bad because I really felt pressured to give them what they wanted to hear and I wasn't absolutely honest about what was in the affidavit. To my knowledge, the trial wouldn't have begun if they hadn't presented my signed affidavit. I'm not concerned about my fate; if I have to go to jail, so be it. My question is: If I go to the judge and tell him that the affidavit is not totally truthful, can it effect a case that has already been settled?

It depends what you said and why you said it. Is the trial resolved yet? What kind of case was it?
