Legal Question in Immigration Law in Illinois
Can you explain that to me?
I've seen an application for naturalization, and there is a question: ''WHere you out of the USA for more than six months?''
Does that means 6 months in one trip, or during the period of 5 years?
In other words, if I went for 5 months to other country, can I go for another 5 months, without making my naturalization delayed?

Re: Can you explain that to me?
Repeated absences from USA, although they were for under six months, do create a rebuttable presumption that you are breaking continuous residence. It may even lead to the conclusion that you have abandoned your permanent residence. It depends on the number of trips. If you take two 5 month trips over 5 years, it may be alright.
