Legal Question in Immigration Law in Illinois
My girlfriend is here on a student visa. After we get married is there a way to change her status so she no longer has to go to school so we can apply for a green card at a later date?

Yes, as long as she had a lawful entry & no arrests, you can file for her "greencard" (adjustment of status) once you are married. However, I would not wait too long after you are married to apply. I am not sure what time period you are referring to as a "later date".
Please let me know if you have any further questions. Thank you!
