Not loosing green card?

Hello, my question is I have had green for almost 3 years now, I got it through my mom, she got married wit us citizen. Question is write now I am in Lithuania and been here for 5 straight months, but i want to study here, but i dont want to loose my green card, is that possible, because i would still like to go to usa sometimes?

Unless you filed for a Re-entry Permit (I-131) before you left the U.S., it would be a good idea for you to enter the U.S. (use the green card as a re-entry permit) before you have been outside the U.S. for over 180 days (six months).
