Legal Question in Immigration Law in Illinois

Married to soldier...

My husband is in the US army and his duty station is overseas in Germany. I am worried that if I go there with him, that I won't be able to re-enter the US because we have not yet been called to an interview with the immigration, so I still don't have a green card. Do I have to wait until I have it or is there some way that I could get permission to leave and return since he's in the army??

You may be eligible to apply for and utilize an advance parole (travel) document. It is critical that you consult with competent immigration counsel prior to your traveling abroad.

You can likely apply for an expedited interview on your green card.

Once you are a lawful permanent resident, you can apply directly for naturalization based on his being stationed abroad outside the U.S.

Please feel free to contact me if you require assistance with the above.
