Legal Question in Immigration Law in Illinois

sponsoring my foreign step-child

My wife and I were married married a year ago. She has a child that currently resides in Bulgaria which we would like to bring to the US. However, her birth father, who lives in Boston, has not applied for status. This is holding up her visa. Do I as her step-father have any other recourse to bring this child to the US?

Re: sponsoring my foreign step-child

Step-children do (under certain circumstances) qualify for immigration benefits. The question is whether you need to file an I-130 or whether you can do an Accompany to Follow case for the Step-child.
