Legal Question in Insurance Law in Illinois

Hi I need some export advice, I hired Boyer-Rosene Moving & Storage a large moving company in Chicago to move me into a temporary apartment. I was told (on my estimate) the move would take 7 hrs but it took 14 hrs. (9am-11pm with 3 food brakes that I paid for) During bringing in my furniture to the new apartment I noticed 2 of the movers taping a part of my sofa leg together, they got all bent out of shape when I asked them what happened to my sofa they said it's ok just make a claim, it was late I wanted them gone, I needed to put my 5 year old to bed so I said ok and on the bill of landing that I signed I put done the sofa leg was broken and possible unknown other things. The next day I called and made the claim to the moving company. I made a claim for a few other furniture pieces that I found broken and the hard wood floor in the sitting area under the broken sofa leg had scratches and in the master bedroom very deep scratched from the beds legs.

The movers agent got back to me and sent a repair man to try and fix my stuff, they said if he cant fix my damages to my liking then we will continue with the claim. He came and tried to fix most of my stuff but nothing he tried to fix ever looked the same. I contacted the agent again. I was told if I am not satisfied just tell her the approximate wight of each piece of damaged furniture and get an estimate to fix the wood floors and they will pay. When I got the estimate from this company I asked them about damage to my things and they told me I don't really need extra insurance unless I want to purchase coverage for $60,000 otherwise it's just the .30 per pound so needless to say I didn't take the extra coverage. Anyway I asked the agent if they will send someone out to my house to check the wight and I was told just give us your best guess and that's good enough so I did, and they got back to me to say that's very heavy and our standard are 1/4 the wights I gave them (it took them a week to email me the company wight payout. I told them I disagree with the list they sent me and I asked them to come out and wight the stuff themselves they said no. I was very angry I said just pay the .30 it's a joke anyway and for the wood floor damage and I want this done.

So now they are saying the will pay $100+ whatever ='s the .30 per pound (less what the repair guy they sent said he fixed good enough) but not the floors because I didn't write them done on the bill of landing before the movers left the house. What do I do? I already paid and got the floor fixed and moved out of this apartment (with another moving company the move was fine I had to give away all the pieces that had damage so this company didn't handle of the damages items in question) the floors cost me $1500. to fix how do I get my money back? I told them I would get legal advice but would that be cost affective? Please help me get my money back and make this nightmare go away - thank you for your help.
