Legal Question in Insurance Law in Illinois
insurance fees
Is it legal for an insurance company to charge an ''installment fee'' when paying the premium in full?
I received my auto insurance renewal and payment notice, and realized I was being charged $10.00 for an ''installment fee'', even though the bill was for the full 6 month term. during my communication with the company I was informed that this fee was disclosed in my policy. I have reviewed my policy, it is not mentioned.
Do I have any recourse?

Re: insurance fees
I am not exactly sure what an installment fee is. Try calling the company and tell them to show you where in the policy the fee is mentioned and ask if there is a way to avoid it in the future since, as you say, you pay the whole thing in advance.
