Legal Question in Insurance Law in Illinois
Liability in an accident
I recently lent my van to someone and he got into an accident, totaling the van as well as destroying property and another vehicle. Unbeknownst to me this person did not have a valid driver's license. Am I liable for all damages, the vehicle he borrowed was a company vehilcle. Will I be personally responsible for damages if the insurance company doesn't pay. My company is a corporation and I am the sole stock holder.
