Can a man keep his divorced wife on his health insurance for a year after the divorce until she can get her own?

It's possible and is usually something negotiated as part of the marital settlement agreement.

This depends on the work policy for including someone on your insurance. If the policy excludes non-related persons who are not domestic partners, you may be precluded from keeping her on the policy irrespective of the intentions of the divorcing parties. If that becomes part of the settlement, you might have to purchase individual coverage for her.
