Legal Question in Insurance Law in Illinois
Overpay
My insurance company overpaid my dentist for one of my recent visits. I never knew there was an overpayment , but I got a letter asking for the amount of the overpayment. Shouldn't they be asking for the money from the company they overpaid?

Re: Overpay
That is a bit of a strange story. You should call the insurance company and ask what's happening. It is possible that your insurance paid 100% of a bill when it was only supposed to pay 80% (or some other percentage). In that case, they are asking you to pay the 20% you were supposed to pay initially. In any event, I would make sure to figure out what happened before you write any checks.
