Legal Question in Insurance Law in Illinois
Settlement
my lawyer called me about a week ago, he said he had talked
to the other party claim adjuster, and becaues the accident
was a side impact and no tickets were issued, i would only
get about 50% of what i would have gotten if it was a rear
end accident, i was hit by a truck last year and i had what
my lawer called soft injuries. I was told by my lawyer i would get about 20,000 - his fee, should i go for more or
settle ?

Re: Settlement
I am sorry to learn of your injuries. Unfortunately, you have not given enough information for me to accurately answer your question. If you hired a qualified trial attorney, he/she is your best source of information. However, if you can tell me:
The nature of your injuries and the medical procedures, along with their costs;
Where the crash occurred;
What you were doing (turning left, going straight) when you got hit;
What kind of traffic control devices were at the intersection (I assume it was at an intersection that you were hit) and any extenuating circumstances, i.e. drinking and driving, etc.,
I can give you a better answer. The fact that you have a previous injury will affect the value of later injury cases, as your body is already "damaged."
You can respond by email, or call me at 866.621.6519, without cost or obligation.
I hope I can be of assistance.
