Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Illinois
I'd like to know what do I need to ensure I get money from those producing my idea? I have an idea for jewelry that will be made in China & I know it's going to make a lot of money if done and promoted the way I envision. Do I need a contract? Should I ask for a percentage of each piece or what & how to accomplish this? I just don't want to get ripped off.
Thanks so much.

You do need a contract, lots of them in fact. Invest in an attorney to help you.
More than a contract, you need protection, perhaps a copyright, perhaps a trademark, perhaps a patent. Yes, you will need a contract, but you better first get cooking on some intellectual property protections or you will have nothing to contract and will surely get ripped off. I am in Illinois and do intellectual property law of all types, so I can help you. Call. Initial consultations are free. Do it soon as rights can be lost by delay.
