"Standing" is a legal term by which you must actually be injured to bring an action. If this was your wife, parent, child or other close relative then you might have standing, but almost certainly not for a girlfriend. If your girlfriend was actually injured due to the hospital's negligence then your girlfriend's family should consult an attorney.
