Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Illinois

non-payment for design services

I had a client for whom I designed numerous signs and banners. I turned these signs over to a printer who both printed and installed them.

3 months later I still have not been paid. I believe the printer has been paid however. Am I able to go and take down these signs and banners since my client does not have the rights to use my designs?

Re: non-payment for design services

I would not recommend this course of action. I would suggest that you sue them for what they owe you. The limit for small claims in Illinois is $10,000, so if you are owed less than this, you could probably take care of it on your own.
