Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Illinois

Personal property

A friend of mine got married and moved into a home with her husband and his mother. She and her two children (one of which is her husbands) were put out after a verbal and physical altercation. The husband then took her property, without permission, and put it in a storage facility and sent her a letter saying if she did not retrieve the items in 30 days, that they would become the property of the storage facility, which he happens to work for, and disposed of. She has no money and no place to stay. She is taking him to child support court and she does work, but she is struggling financially and may not be able to get her property within the 30 days of receiving the letter. Is there anything she can do to protect her property?

Re: Personal property

Your questions has nothing to do with intellectual property. Your question should be directed to an attorney who practices in the area of torts (conversion and/or trespass to chattels). Sorry I can't be more of a help to you. Good luck.

Re: Personal property

Sorry. Your question does not involve intellectual property, which is copyrights, trademarks, and patents. You should probably consult a domestic relations (family law) attorney. Good luck. DS
