Trademark/Copyright Question

Hello,

I have the following questions:

1. How does someone legally establish a church/religion that is recognized by the state of Illinois?

2. If I wanted to protect the name ''Church of ***********'' would I need to get a copyright or a trademark?

i would contact the illinois secretary of states office to form the church...and the name of the church MAY be able to secure trademark registration. if you have further questions feel free to call me..... you can also go to www.uspto.gov
