Is there a state or federal law that requires spousal approval if they are not the sole primary beneficiary for a retirement or investment account?

What are you trying to do? Is this an IRA or something and you want to designate a beneficiary other than your spouse? Or is it an employment benefit? Please be specific about what it is and what you want to do. Thanks.
