Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in Illinois

under age questioning by the police

Is it legal for the police to question a child without the parent being present? What about if the parent was not notified until about 3 hours later?

Re: under age questioning by the police

Hello. Questioning of a child, under these circumstances, is improper. The parents should have been notified as soon as possible. This is outrageous. I suggests that the parents consider filing a lawsuit, if the child was arrested. Hope my comments have been helpful. Will be happy to answer any additional questions you may have.
