Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois
I was given a 50 cent raise from my employer,but instead of put it on my pay rate, which will put it at $11.00per hour,he has put it under miscellnous.This is not right. so by not doing this,he is only paying me50cent hour which equal 4 dollars a day,which is only 40.00every 2 weeks .Is this wage theft

Huh? If you are being paid based on an 8-hour day, 40 hrs a week, then $0.50 x 8 = $4.00 a day and for every 2 weeks that's $40.00. What did you expect? If you are saying, however, that the employer is not taking payroll taxes out of this added wage, that would be a problem, since of the $40.00 depending on your W-4s, your net should be around $32.00?
