Contract Breach-Ex-employer Harrassment
I joined a consulting firm as a consultant in october of 2006.I left the company in Feb,2007 because and broke the contract.
1.He did not pay me when I was employed with him.
2.He did not get a project for me with any client of his / market me from october of 2006 to Feb 2007
In Feb 2007 employer threatened me with e-mails saying that my case has been sent to collections.
Now(after 1 year) the employer is threatening me with e-mails saying he has sent it is in the final stages of collection and has court orders to collect 10,000$ from me.He has asked me to call him to resolve this issue,otherwise says it will be out of his hands.I have not received any kinds of calls or mails from the collection agency regarding this issue.
When I had joined his company I was on OPT(optional practical training).
The Terms of Termination on the contract was:
Consultant shall server as a consultant for a period commencing on the earlier of the date on which the agreement was fully executed..Consultant can terminate at any time upon completion of 50weeks of billable engagement without any penalties provided they give a 2 week prior notice.The company charges a 10,000$ fee for the training,accommodation and marketing service

I recommend that you send certified correspondence with your old boss laying out your position. Unless the threats you mention actually become something, I would ignore him.
