I have worked with the ''promise of pay'' for over ten months for a new hedge fund creating the legals, marketing plan, lead lists and passing licensing exams.
After being finger printed, added to the payroll, given a title, I was called into the office to ''get paid''.
When I entered the building the receptionist called the ''boss'' and told him I was drunk. (I was NOT) and later that day after a meeting I was terminated (via email) and told not to contact the office anymore. The receptionist, ''boss'' and at least one other person discussed my ''condition''.
Q: Can I collect money due from the promissory estoppel rule?
Q: Can I slap a defamation suit on the company for making me look bad?
Q: What can I do to rehabilitate my reputation and collect $$? Thanks
