Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois
employee file
Does a person have a right to review his or her employment file, and if so, does a person have a right to dispute something contained within it with an attached letter?
Thank You

Re: employee file
Hello. In my opinion you do have a legal right to see your employment file since it relates to you. You should request to see your file in writing. If you see a notation in your file that you believe is false, you should request that the false information be expunged. If your employer refuses to comply with your request, you should write your employer and dispute the information. Will be happy to discuss this further and in more detail.
