Can your employer force to take voluntary day off without pay and you can't use a vacation day either

Your best authority on this question is the Department of Labor, Office of Wages and Hours. 312-596-7230 You are not guaranteed a 40 hour work week, but you do have to be paid for 40 hours if you work for that amount of time.
