falsely accused

About 1 year ago i was fired as a security officer because a fellow co-worker claimed I left the site i was assignrd to

and without any proof without any prior history of the subject, and without givin me the chance to tell my side of the story i was fired. Do i have any bases for a law suite and if so for how much if any and what is my staute of limitaions

Illinois is an at will employment state - this essentially means that you can quit when you want and they can fire you when they want. Unless your claim is based on some type of discrimination, I do not see that you have any basis for a claim. Please note that if it is a discrimination claim then you usually only have a 6 month time period to file a claim although this is extended to a year in some areas.
