Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

Fired for returning to school

I was working for a company out of O'Hare airport for 2 1/2 years making a pretty good buck. When I decided I would like to go back to college and downgrade from full time to part time, I was fired. Also In the month before my termination my hourly wages were decreased without my knowledgement and I did not agree to such. I was withheld overtime pay too. Am I legally entitled to my loss of wages and loss of overtime pay. Am I on legal grounds to file a lawsuit for fireing me so i can go back to school. What do I do????

Re: Fired for returning to school

You certainly have a claim for your unpaid overtime. You may have a claim for your reduction in wages without notice depending on your employment status. Also, you may have a discrimination claim if a co-worker received more favorable treatment.
