Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

In the us is there a law that prevents employers from paying more to their new hires then the old employees? I have been working at DSW for two years now and I am only making $8.25 an hour. The people who just started are making $ 9 an hour. Is there anything that i can do. I requested a raise from my boss, but was informed that her DM would not allow her to give any raises.

No there is no such law. Unless your company is subject to a collective bargaining agreement, they can pay anyone anything they like, subject to minimum wage laws.
