Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

I need some legal advice,first I would like to say I worked at this company for about 10 years.I did everything I didn't call in sick at all.I take care of over 38 residents by myself when they were short,I didn't get a "thank you". They kicked me out the door for being one minute late.I went to a seminar and I ask the man this question, "If you get fired from a job are you entitled to unemployment?" And the guy said yes I said how come when I started getting unemployment They stop it after a month this happened in 2006 I'm still paying that money back and I think that is wrong.I have of more questions can you call me at this number? When people claim unemployment employers are contacted to see if they have any reason why benefits should be denied and if there is a dispute then there is usually a hearing. So how it came to be that you wound up having to repay benefits is a mystery. You may have forfeited your rights to a hearing, or defaulted, or lost, depending on any number of factors. If you can't afford an attorney today you may have to seek help from a legal clinic. That shouldn't stop you from going to the Dept of Labor yourself and finding out what if anything is in your file for this claim.
