Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois
letter of agreement
I signed a letter of agreement with a new company. When I informed my current employer that I would be leaving, they made me an offer that was too good to refuse. Can I recind the agreement with the new company and stay with my current company?

Re: letter of agreement
It really depends on the terms of the "letter of agreement". Generally, a company cannot unreasonably restrict you from being employed by another company, even a competitor. However, reasonable restrictions are permissible. What are the terms of the letter you signed with the new company?
