Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois
I live in the state of Illinois. I am currently working at a resteraunt that is being sold to another local company. I've been told that the new owners are planning to reduce the number of hours the establishment is open by closing during lunch through out the entire week. This would greatly reduce the amount of hours I work. My question is this: If I quit because of a reduction of hours/pay, will I be eligable for unemployment benefits?

If you do NOT quit, you may be entitled to benefits for the difference between what you were making previous to the ownership change and your reduced schedule. Contact the unemployment office before you quit.
