Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois
Overpayment
I rescently got overpaid and HR is claiming to take legal actions if I dont pay them back but the paystubs never included the hourly wage. We rescently set up for them to take out 50 from each paycheck but I got terminated (I'm a college student) and they are threatening to take action and demand a check for the full amount of 400. Is there any way I can fight this?

Re: Overpayment
If they are correct to recover the money, then it would be in your best interest to pay them as soon as possible and be sure to get a receipt that it has been paid in full. The repercussion of not paying is a collection action which will follow you via your credit rating. Future employers do background checks now, including credit checks.
