Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois
About Overtime pay
I got my pay check today, bi-weekly from 12/16/2006 to 12/29/2006 .
On my pay check shown like this:
Holiday pay : 8 (hours)
Regular wage: 75 (hours)
Vacation pay : 4 (hours)
During that two weeks I worked overtime 7 hours, the regular wage should be 68 hours and overtime 7 hours.
I went to talk to HR manager. She told me that I didnt get pay overtime because my regular work time didnt pass 80 hours. She said I have to be physically worked in the office 80 hours, regular wage NOT INCLUDED holiday time and vacation time? She said that is the law.
I worked overtime because my manager asked me to.
What should I do?
Please help,
Thanks a lot,

Re: About Overtime pay
Only hours ACTUALLY WORKED must be counted in determining whether an employee is eligible for overtime pay.
