Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

Posting/Searching for filled job

I resently expressed to my boss that I was considering leaving the unit that I am currently employed. I went on the current openings on our jobs intranet and found that my current job was open even though I have not given any formal notification that I was leaving. Can they post and look for a replacement for me even though I am still employed in the position?

Remember that Illinois is an at will state - that essentially means that you can quit when you want and can be fired when they want. They can look for a replacement. If I were you I would clarify my position to the boss immediately.
