Receiving harassing letters from a former co-worker
I received a letter from a former co-
worker containing offensive, and
derogatory statements. This letter
was to delivered to my employers
address. This is the second of its kind
to be delivered, the first was
addressed to my Project Manager,
and others, they would not disclose
who, nor would they disclose what
was said or about whom. My direct
supervisor later if formed me, that
my name was repeatedly mentioned.
I am unsure of what to do, I did
report the letter to my operation
manager. He suggested I contact the
U.S. Postal Inspector to see if there is
any law prohibiting the use of the US
Postal Service for the purpose of
harassment. I am hoping you can
suggest any other recourse or advise.
Meanwhile I will be attempting to
contact USPIO, but believe it will turn
out be a fruitless action. Thank for
you your time and consideration.

Depending on what was said in the letters, you may have some recourse in civil courts. You may also be able to get a restraining order which would hold the person in criminal contempt if he/she continues to contact you.
