Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

I recently got fired. Two weeks ago, a coworker, who I was close with, quit and her resignation letter ruffled some feathers. Consequently, my Supervisor had a meeting with me to see how I was feeling (because my per her resignation letter she was so unhappy). The week after that, I was fired. They had numerous emails between my ex-coworker and me where we discussed how unhappy we were. I must admit, because we never meant for anyone else to read those emails, we used pretty colorful language. Is this fair?

Yes. You were using company equipment on company time to run down the company. You have no right of privacy on the companies servers or to email that you sent using them. Learn from this experience and don't repeat it in your next job.
